In continuing the theme of weird 80’s videos, here is the video/short film for “Fish Heads” (you know, “fish heads fish heads roly poly fish heads”) by Barnes and Barnes.  I remember hearing/singing this growing up and always thought it was some children’s tune.  This song was made popular by Dr. Demento and he appears in this film as the homeless guy.  Other notables?  Try one Bill Paxton as the guy in sunglasses.

Dog Police

Once upon a time, in a time now known as the 80’s, MTV had a show called “Basement Tapes”.  The show gave exposure to unsigned bands (and filled air time in an era before reality TV shows swallowed up what used to be MUSIC television) by showing videos that the band submitted.

This is one such music video, called “Dog Police”, performed by the band of the same name.  The video has been played on Al TV and the video came in 2nd on “Basement Tapes”.  I did not have/watch MTV in the 80’s so this is the first time I have seen this video.  I can safely say it will also be my last.  Join me, won’t you?
