NASA is planning a new probe launch in January 2006 to conduct research on the planet Pluto. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Pluto’s discovery, NASA is including the name of anyone who submits it at the website below on a compact disc and adding it to the spacecraft before it launches. Let’s show those Plutonians who we are and how wacky our names can be. I’ve already submitted the following names:

englebert Englebert Humperdink

sagemoonblood Sage Moonblood Stallone (Sly’s kid)

frankzappa The entire Frank Zappa family (Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva)

These names truly BELONG in space.

First picture ever, back in 1826. Taken by a Frenchman, it took 8 hours of exposure time. Probably used that time to think of new ways to be smug, not shower, and wave the white flag of surrender.
